Author Submission Policy

Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to Quill & Ink House. We are committed to supporting independent authors and carefully reviewing each submission we receive.

Please read this policy before submitting your work.

Eligibility

Authors submitting to Quill & Ink House must: 

  1. Be at least 18 years of age or have permission from a parent or legal guardian. 

  2. Own the rights to all materials submitted. 

  3. Have the legal authority to submit the work for consideration.

Ownership of Submitted Work 

Authors retain all ownership rights and intellectual property rights to their submitted manuscript, proposals, excerpts, artwork, and related materials. 

Submitting materials to Quill & Ink House does not transfer any ownership rights to us. 

No publishing, distribution, marketing, representation, or partnership agreement shall exist unless both parties enter into a separate written agreement.

Submission Review Process

All submissions are reviewed at our discretion.

Submission does not guarantee:

  1. Review by a specific date 

  2. Feedback or editorial notes 

  3. Acceptance into any program, services, subscription box, partnership, or promotional opportunity 

  4. Publication or representation

Due to the volume of submissions received, we may not be able to provide individualized feedback.

Submission Standards

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted materials: 

  1. Are their original work or are submitted with proper authorization 

  2. Do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others

  3. Do not contain unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or misleading content 

  4. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

We reserve the right to reject any submission that does not meet these standards.

Simultaneous Submissions

Unless otherwise stated in specific submission call, simultaneous submissions are permitted.

If your submitted work is accepted elsewhere or becomes unavailable for consideration, please notify use as soon as possible.

Communication

By submitting materials, you consent to receiving communications related to your submission 

Communication may occur via email or other contact information provided during the submission process.

Confidentiality

Quill & Ink House will make reasonable efforts to treat submitted materials with care and confidentiality. 

However, authors should understand that no submissions process can guarantee absolute confidentiality or security. 

Authors should retain copies of all materials submitted.

Right to Decline

Quill & Ink House reserve the rights to decline, discontinue consideration of, or remove any submission from consideration at any time and for any reason. 

We are not obligated to provide an explanation for a decision regarding any submission

Future Similar Works

Authors acknowledge that Quill & Ink House may already be reviewing, developing, promoting, or working with projects that contain themes, concepts, characters, settings, or ideas similar to those contained in submitted work. 

Submission of materials does not create any claim against Quill & Ink House based on similarities between submitted materials and other works.

Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update the Author Submission Policy at any time. Update will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
